The Best Asian Fast Food Franchises - Hop on the Orient Express!
Move over moo shu pork, you're about to get bowled over by new Asian fast-food franchises on the market.
Chinese food has long been a staple for hungry people seeking a hurried meal. But recently, the selection of Asian foods has expanded to fill a void in the fast-food and casual dining markets with a variety of quick Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Thai cuisine options. Noodle bowls and lettuce wraps now lure diners away from standard burger-and-fries combo meals. The following Asian-influenced franchises are now available:
- Zyng Asian Grill - this full-service casual dining restaurant serves a variety of freshly-prepared Asian cuisine from a display kitchen set in a "casual, funky, and upbeat" environment. Customers can create their own Asian market bowls, selecting from over 15 vegetables; 12 sauces; 6 noodle or rice offerings; and chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu, or Zoya toppings.
- Asian Chao/Maki of Japan/Chao Cajun - these three distinct fast-food franchises are all operated by the same franchisor, Food Systems Unlimited. Asian Chao offers a more traditional Chinese menu with interesting sides, such as fried bananas. Maki of Japan offers teriyaki and tempura selections, as well as reasonably-priced sushi rolls. Chao Cajun serves an eclectic combination of Creole and Asian food.
- Edo Japan Inc. - this franchise originated the practice of cooking fast food to order in the Japanese Teppan style. Situated in food courts and neighborhood locations, Edo Japan's menu options are healthy and lower in calories than most traditional fast food meals.
- Samurai Sam's Teriyaki Grill - this franchise offers "healthy cuisine prepared chop-chop." Lean Japanese entrees feature teriyaki and Yaki Soba Bowls, grilled egg rolls, teriyaki wraps and salads. Franchise location options include mall food courts, strip malls, train stations, and airports.
- Mama Fu's Asian House - in Mama Fu's house, everyone is happy. Mama couples fresh, hot, and fast food with classic rock music to ensure her customers have a great time. All food is wok-cooked, based on Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Thai recipes.
- City Wok - this franchise features a new twist on Chinese food. Food is made to order in an exhibition kitchen, without MSG additives. The menu features half orders, which allows customers to sample several different dishes. The addition of take-out and catering services increases the franchisee's profit potential.
Trends indicate that consumers want healthier fast-food options and crave alternatives to the standard burgers and chicken sandwich fare. Asian cuisine fills the bill by providing lower-calorie, vegetable intensive offerings for fast dining, beckoning franchisees to hop aboard the Orient express.
