7 Eleven Inc.

Franchise Concept: Convenience Stores
Actively seeking Franchisee's in: Northeast, South, Midwest, Southwest, West

7 Eleven Inc. Franchises

One of the older and most respected convenience store chains in existence, 7-Eleven franchises proudly serve customers in the United States, Canada, Asia and countless other countries and regions around the world. Today it is known to be the largest operator, licensor and franchisor of convenience stores on the planet. While a big portion of the U.S. and Canadian stores are actually run by the company, the majority - about three-fifths - is under the control of individual franchisees who are enthusiastically serving their communities\' needs. With over 20,000 stores worldwide, the 7-Eleven presence continues to grow at and increasingly rapid pace, having most recently added about 1,400 store fronts to its numbers.

First established in 1927 in the city of Dallas, Texas, the store got its name simply from the hours it was open - from 7a.m. to 11p.m. Its primary purpose back then was to sell ice, but it soon caught on to the fact that it could turn a profit by selling groceries on Sundays while other stores were closed. Thus it has been recognized by many to be the father of convenience stores, and has since grown into an all-purpose convenience retailer selling everything from hot snacks and delicious smoothies - the famous \"Big Gulp\" - to personal items, essential groceries, beer, wine and even gasoline at some locations. It started franchising in 1964 and by 1971 was signing for an international license in Mexico.

For the entrepreneur interested in finding out more about buying a 7-Eleven franchise, there are many reasons to be excited about this opportunity. With over 3,000 up and running franchises in the United States, 7-Eleven has developed a strong reputation as one of the leaders in providing customers with what they have come to expect. The list of priorities for 7-Eleven\'s products and services includes the reliability, quality and freshness of store items, quick shopping transactions, good prices and a store environment that is clean and safe for both customers as well as employees. By setting up a contract as an independent agent to the 7-Eleven Corporation, the franchisee is able to take advantage of a great lease - or even sublease - opportunity. Because the business strategy of 7-Eleven values company ownership, the franchisees benefit by being able to take charge of stores for which the company has already made a huge investment. This initial cash outpour which ranges from one to two million dollars includes the cost of the land, the building, all of the store equipment and even the regular payment of the utilities. All the franchisee has to do is then put his or her management expertise and entrepreneurial spirit to work in order to make the store the most profitable it possibly can be.

Primary duties of the franchisee include keeping up the store\'s inventory, recruiting and training employees, taking care of payroll, supplies and various maintenance expenses. Then an account is set up between the franchisee and the 7-Eleven company through which the franchisee is credited for all of the stores revenue and debited for the various expenses owed to the company, including the payment schedule for any financing the company may have given the owner. Other expenses to be aware of include the highly variable $160,000 that covers both the franchise fee and the cost of the store\'s initial worth in inventory, permits, licenses and other miscellaneous fees. In return, franchisees receive extensive training and consulting both up front and through the length of their contract. Also, they are given accurate record keeping services, membership in important franchisee groups, certain types of legal protection and extensive advertising for a well-known store name.
