Currently, Hooters Corporation is actively looking to develop markets in Finland, Norway, Poland, Scotland, South Africa, Benelux, Austria, Australia, Iceland, Southern China/Hong Kong, Ireland, Spain, Czech Republic, Japan, Switzerland and Denmark, New Zealand and England. In Canada, regions of prioritized development include Newfoundland, Quebec and the Maritimes. In addition, there are multi-territory opportunities available in France, Germany and Italy. For those who are interested in developing a country that is not mentioned here, it is advisable to contact the company directly, as Hooters has not priorities countries that are not included among those mentioned above. The requirements for prospective Hooters franchisees are fairly straightforward, although not the easiest compared to other franchise options. The person applying must be willing and excited about developing anywhere from three to five Hooters locations within his or her specified market area. In addition to this, the location must be populated by more than 100,000 inhabitants, and preferably more than 500,000. One of the more defining requirements is that the franchisee prove the accessibility of more than $3 million in assets that are liquid.
