Budget Blinds Franchise Offers Investors A Valuable Window of Opportunity

Leading custom window coverings franchise gives entrepreneurs a clear view of success

Five young entrepreneurs first used a small apartment as the main office for Budget Blinds, and today their business is a top performer in the franchise industry

Budget Blinds Recognized as the #1 window coverings company in America since 1998, as determined by Entrepreneur magazine, Budget Blinds is one of the most popular home-based businesses in existence. Since being established in 1992, the franchise has experienced an average growth rate of 40% and currently has 1,033 locations throughout 48 states.

When it comes to success, every franchise has it's own unique recipe for success. For Budget Blinds, the main ingredient is convenience. By giving customers the chance to purchase a quality product with free in-home design consultations, measuring and professional installation, Budget Blinds took the home shopping sector one step further.

Depending on the number of territories that a franchisee plans to own, the minimum investment required for opening a Budget Blinds franchise will range from $74,950 to $114,950. This estimate includes the franchise fee of $24,950 and territory fee, which is based on the area that the franchisee wishes to market. Those who wish to invest in more than one territory at the time of their initial purchase will enjoy a discount of $5,000 per territory. For instance, the cost is $50,000 for one territory or $90,000 (a savings of $10,000) for two territories.

"The Budget Blinds training is intense and effective, and it doesn't cut corners," the franchisor suggests.

In preparation for their new business venture, franchise owners will undergo a two-week training program centered around a 'no experience' curriculum. Covered topics range from administration and office procedures to working with product manufacturers. In addition, an overview of business, sales and marketing is provided along with product and installation training.

Once a new franchise location is opened, both the owner and his/her employees will have the opportunity to further their skills through additional training. Franchisees will enjoy the ongoing availability of sessions aimed at furthering their knowledge of a specific product or service, including those offered at conventions and/or regional meetings. When a franchisee needs to learn about a new product, the company will often hire qualified individuals to provide special training sessions.

When the time comes to hire a new employee, SMART (Sales, Marketing & Requirement Training) School is offered as part of employee training and is available to all Budget Blinds franchises. This program includes a three-day training period geared toward sales and marketing education. Rather than conducting the employee training themselves, franchise owners will enjoy the convenience of being able to continue handling the daily business operations while new employees receive quality training through a company-approved curriculum.
